Accessing data through the SDE

Research projects will need to meet certain criteria and be approved before being able to access data within the SDE.

Access to relevant health data for research and analysis will be within the SDE platform, with no raw data leaving the safe environment.

 

The operational team that will manage the East Midlands SDE platform will be able to control many factors, including:

•       Who can be a user

•       The data that users can access

•       What users can do in the SDE environment, and

•       The findings of analysis that users can remove.

We are developing our operations incrementally to ensure the SDE platform meets the needs of researchers and remains supported by data controllers, our patients, and the public.

By making these gradual enhancements, we reduce the risks associated with large, complex programme changes.
